School Closings In Michigan, The Michigan State Police is warning motorists that roads are slushy and slippery this morning after overnight rain, snow and sleet swept through southeast Michigan. Side roads are especially messy, state police Sgt. Craig Nyeholt said. Few accidents have been reported, he said. Deckerville schools has canceled classes. No other school closings have been reported. The National Weather Service is calling for rain before 1 p.m. followed by snow. The temperature is expected to hit 38 degrees by 9 a.m. then fall to abou 33 degrees for the remainder of the day.

It will be windy today with gusts up to 39 miles per hour. Total snow accumulation of less than 1 inch is possible.

Snow showers are expected to continue overnight with accumulation of 1 to 2 inches.
