Copter Service On Hold Amid Bad Weather
HUNZA: The gap between the spillway and the lake level has reduced to four feet whereas Gilgit-Hunza section of Karkoram Highway will be closed for
traffic from 6:00 pm today due to possible outflow of water.
Helicopter rescue service has been affected due to bad weather conditions. Deputy Commissioner Hunza-Nagar Zafar Waqar Taj said the distance between lake and spillway is only four feet and people have directed to reach at higher places. Emergency has been imposed in Gilgit and Hunza and vacations of organizations related to NDMA have been canceled. Helicopter service started for Hunza affectees has also suspended due to bad weather, he added.
